[EU Herald] Compensation for the Open Beta

The EU Herald brings us news about an offer from GOA in exchange for what happened at the start of Open Beta:

Dear all,
More than 100,000 European players have now created characters and launched enthusiastically into the violent and bloody battlefields of the Old World every evening. Despite this, for many of you and for us as well, the launch of the open beta has left a bitter taste. While it is true that the purpose of Beta Testing a game is to indeed expose problems before a game launches, the launch did not happen anywhere near as smoothly as we had planned.
Because of this I have decided to offer seven free days to all of the beta testers. If you decide to continue your adventures in WAR, and we certainly hope you do, you will be credited on your account from the 18th of September and will be able to take part in the adventure without any regret. By the beginning of next week, we expect many more to join us as we open the gates for our Head Start, and we look forward to welcoming all of you in the Warhammer world.

biggest gift would be, if GOA would learn to COMMUNICATE finally.

my time (and my nerves) are worth more than the equivalent of a pint of beer.

why not offer something funny, with some real value? (at best in ADDITION to the free days?)

I would thnk that if they make a mess of the head start, we will get more free time. If they mess up the release as well, we may end up with the first two months for free

I would say that,

If you decide to continue your adventures in WAR

means if you create a full retail account using a retail key.

Great decision on their part. Hopefully the people I keep seeing complain will silence now.

this is really welcome news and it should get them on the players good side again (hinged upon the condition that the head start goes smoothly - and I haven't gotten my head SE start yet so my vote is still pending).

Apologies will only get you so far, then action is required. I had to wait 50 hours after the open beta started before I got in and no amount of words could make up for that (especially not derogatory comments from GOA staff).

I've found the servers to be far from as jampacked as they were in the beginning of the open beta (and it's prime game time now during the weekend). I belive alot of people became disillusioned with WAR and GOA during those days, lets just hope this isn't to little to late.
