Authentication Failed - Application Will Now Terminate- FIX

This may or may not work for all but it will at least work for those running on college campuses (I am one of those).

Okay I typed up this long walkthrough only to have it not post :S. So here it is in a nutshell. This took me 5 hours to figure out how to do.

Install your freedom and proxifier (remember to create a free YourFreedom account).

In YourFreedom click configure and under server select, select your server preferences. Click back to server connection and click use wizard. Click next through all options and let it ping the servers. Select the server that is in your area and has the highest score from the generated list (10 being the highest). Enter your free account info. Click save and exit. Go to ports. Under Forwarded Ports you add these ports and addresses:

Local port: 1080
Remote address: 206.112.191.130
Remote Port: 8046

Then
Local Port : 8046
Remote address: 206.112.191.130
Remote Port: 1080

Then Local Port: 1080
Remote address:206.112.184.165
Remote Port: 1380


Then Local Port: 1380
Remote address:206.112.184.165
Remote Port: 1080


Okay your done setting that up go to proxifier.

Options-Proxy Settings-add

Enter this:

address Localhost (one word)

Port 1080

Type: SOCKS 4

Check add SOCKS4A extension

Okay close out of proxifier completly (it will go to the toolbar when you click the x at first just right click it and exit).

Start YourFreedom

Right click on the WAR shortcut and select proxify.

Enter your account info and enjoy.


Drawbacks: While proxifier is running all other internet application will be slow (dont know why) the game wont be. Also YourFreedom the free version is on a one hour timer and will disconenct after 1 hour (you can reconnect no prob). To do this you must completely exit out of the game and proxifier then reset the connection and then proxify the game again. I know its a pain in the but if you pay 5 dollars you can subscribe to YourFreedom and that will stop. I am cheap so I dont (at least right now).

Yes that should work for those who can at times connect other times not. This solution I posted is for those whose ports in some way are blocked.

Using the above method, I was able to log in and play for a while. This depresses me, as I hope I don't need to buy this software in order to play, when I can play most other online games with no trouble at all.

it actually works, and just goes to show that we are being BLOCKED Mythic!!! How come other games don't get blocked but you do? Please do something about this!

when i right click the short cut it takes awhile then i get an error saying it cant connect to some patch file under the proxifier screen it looks like this

14:46] Error : Could not connect to the proxy server Localhost:1080 (error code 10061)
[14:46] firefox.exe - Could not connect to 64.233.169.103:80 through the proxy server.

or

[14:55] Error : Could not connect to the proxy server Localhost:1080 (error code 10061)
[14:55] warpatch.bin - Could not connect to 206.112.184.163:1380 through the proxy server.

and somtimes i get a "Patch Error" that reads...
"The Patch Client was unable to retrieve the file [patcher.prod.sig] from the patch server. Please try the patch operation again in a short while."

if you could provide any light to this situation it would be greatly appreciated

Make sure you are connected to the Your Freedom server before starting Proxifier.

Double check you entered all FOUR YourFreedom Forwarded Ports right.

If its saying couldn't connect to localhost its saying that yourfreedom isn't on.

Wow, apparently your college campus is hindering / not doing outbound stateful packet inspection some how. That sucks to have to do that proxy work around!

I'd raise an argument with the I.T. Administration over this for sure, detailing what you need for outbound access, and what sort of unreasonable hoops you must jump through to make it work in its current state!
