Average of 1 Year to reach Level 40 / RR80

I dont recall where I read this, but I sincerly hope its true. Getting to max level shouldnt be a walk in the part. It should take some work. Its like level 80s in Conan or level 70s in WoW.. who cares theres a million of them. Remember in EQ when the game first came out. 6 months after launch there werent many lvl 50s but it was impressive. You knew that if someone was lvl 50 they knew how the hell to play their class. In WoW, you have a 70 hunter on a raid and ask him/her to MD to MT and they look at you like your speaking farsi. My point is, if you make leveling easy then you end up with a game like AoC or WoW. Make it hard enough to be proud of what youve accomplished but not so hard that your bleeding out of your eyes, because youve been grinding so long.

Rank 40 should mean nothing.

Rank 80 should.

Not everybody can set aside 12 hours a day for a video game. Rank 40 should take a month tops, renown 80 maybe longer.

The split...so is it Rank 1-40 and then a Renown Rank 1-80?

Can u lose renown ranks? and I also take it u cant be rank 12 but renown rank 80?

I agree but it took an unrealistic amount of play time to reach that. However being max rank meant something in EQ.

If the world were up to me, both would at least mean *something*.

But its not. Reaching 40 will be fairly easy.

You gain Renown Rank (RR) from RvR objectives and killing people. You gain Ranks from quests, killing people, etc. So inherently your Ranks will max before your RR do. No you don't delevel.

Its PvP game, would suck if first city sieges with couple of r40s would be in one year after relase.

Yes each is seperate, but as you pvp and gain Renown, you also gain Exp so i doubt you could be a 12/80 .. You will make lvl 40 long before you make RR80. I dont believe you can lose anything once youve gained it.

You will get a few hardcore people that hit RR80 within a few months of release, but frankly it's not possible to grind it out immediately because you have to have people to fight. The rest of the population has to "catch up" to the level grinders.

Even at RR80 there is still plenty to do, even if your character is technically "finished". You can even go back and start leveling a new character, possibly for the other side on a new server.

Which is what Mythic wants. They have basically created 6 different story lines for us to play through.

You also knew that last time they touched some boobies was, well, never. Unless they were a girl, which made things considerably easier.

Seriously though, I have high hopes for WAR because higher skill should make earning Renown not only equivalent to sinking massive amounts of time into the game. I hope.

A couple of quick facts:
Yes, they are separate levels. 1-40 for PVE, 1-40 for Guilds, 1-80 for RvR.

No, you do not lose rank.

2 it is impossible to be in tier 2 and rr80 because what you kill in RvR also gives you EXP and you WILL level up.

Non Facts:

I would guesstimate it takes approximately 200 hours - 240 hours to hit level cap for the average player.

I would guesstimate it takes 6+ months to reach rr80.
